3 Way Light Switches
What is a 3-Way Light Switch?
A 3-way light switch is a variation of the standard single-pole switch that makes it possible to control a ceiling light or other electrical fixture from two different locations in a room. In a hallway or large room, for example, installing three-way switches at both ends lets you turn the light fixture on or off from both locations.
What is the Difference Between a 3-Way Switch and a 4-Way Switch?
A 3-way switch has three terminals; a 4-way has four. The first control a light from two locations and the later three locations, such as in a stairwell, at either end of a hallway, or in a large room with more than one entrance.
